Golf at Casa de Campo is built around the work of one architect. Pete Dye designed all three of the resort’s courses, beginning with Teeth of the Dog, which opened in 1971 and runs along the Caribbean shoreline. This guide explains the courses, who can play, and how booking, caddies and dress codes work.
The three courses
- Teeth of the Dog: an 18-hole, par-72 course with a stretch of holes beside the sea. It is the resort’s flagship and the course most golfers plan a trip around.
- Dye Fore: three nines, called Marina, Chavón and Lagos, on high ground near the Chavón River and Altos de Chavón. The standard 18-hole round pairs Marina with Chavón.
- The Links: an 18-hole, par-71 inland course that opened in 1974. The resort quotes a slightly shorter pace of play than on the other two.
Who can play golf at Casa de Campo
The resort states that its courses are for resort guests. Published rates are per person per round and include a shared cart, bag storage and range access, with different prices for hotel guests and for other registered guests, a category that can include villa guests. Rates change, so check the resort’s current golf page rather than relying on older figures. The 2026 rate card lists Teeth of the Dog at US$400 per hotel guest and US$550 per other registered guest, and caddies are compulsory there and on Dye Fore. Ask the provider for an itemized total and confirm what the quote includes.
Booking tee times
Tee times can be booked by phone, email or online through the resort. Its policy charges the full fee for no-shows and for cancellations made within 24 hours. Teeth of the Dog runs set tee-time windows in the morning and early afternoon, and it closes for scheduled maintenance each year; for 2026 the resort listed closures in July and late September. Check the calendar before you fix your travel dates. As published on the resort’s golf information page in September 2026, Teeth of the Dog is closed 6 to 25 July 2026 and 21 to 24 September 2026, with morning tee times from 7:30 to 9:27 a.m. and afternoon times from 12:15 to 2:12 p.m. at nine-minute intervals.
Caddies, dress code and practice
- Caddies are mandatory on Teeth of the Dog and Dye Fore and optional on The Links; caddie fees are paid in cash.
- Players and non-playing cart riders, juniors included, must wear collared shirts and appropriate shorts or trousers. T-shirts, tank tops, jeans and swimwear are not allowed.
- A driving range and a golf learning centre offer practice, clinics and camps.
- Rental clubs are available if you prefer to travel light.
Planning a golf trip
Play Teeth of the Dog early in your stay so you have a spare day if weather intervenes, and add Dye Fore for its river views. The Links suits a shorter round or a family game. Groups often find a staffed villa practical, with a cook preparing breakfast ahead of early tee times.
